Much of King of Prussia was built in the late 1950s and 1960s, and newer townhomes keep going up near the Town Center. JDV Electric helps Upper Merion homeowners update aging panels, add capacity and install EV chargers with licensed, background-checked electricians.
King of Prussia homes are usually either post-war houses with aging equipment or newer homes that now need more capacity than the builder provided.
Whether you live in a 1960s split-level or a new townhome, JDV Electric provides the residential electrical services King of Prussia homes need.
Panels and wiring that are 50 to 70 years old often give small warnings first. Catching them early is cheaper and safer than waiting for a failure.
These can point to loose connections, overloaded circuits or failing equipment. JDV Electric can inspect the issue and tell you exactly which one you are dealing with.
King of Prussia mixes post-war homes, 1970s split-levels and new townhomes, and each has its own common issues. A local electrician knows where to look first and plans upgrades around what you are adding.

I contacted JDV to install a 50 amp line for an electric range. The line had to pass behind a 13' set of built in cabinets and wooden countertop that could not be moved. The cabinets were on a cement slab at the back of our row home. There was a slight access on one side of the slab through the basement. It seemed a monumental task to me. Piro (electrician dispatched by JDV) was on time to appointment. He was friendly, well-motivated and professional in all our interactions. I felt clear at every step along the way as to the work being done and why. There was no pressure to upsell on options. Piro stayed in contact with his management team along the way. The work was completed in a timely fashion on the first trip. The work was done well and with a guarantee. The office called to confirm my satisfaction with the work.

We offer residential electrical repairs, panel upgrades and replacements, rewiring, EV charger installation, hot tub wiring, surge protection, smoke and CO detectors, and indoor, outdoor and landscape lighting.
We recommend having one inspected. These older panels are common in homes from the 1960s and 1970s and have known reliability concerns. If yours shows wear or cannot handle your loads, replacement is usually the better long-term choice.
Aluminum branch wiring can be safe when connections are made with the right materials. Problems usually appear at outlets, switches and splices. An inspection tells you whether repairs or replacement make sense.
Often, yes. It depends on your panel capacity, the distance to your parking spot and any HOA rules. We check all three and give you a clear plan before installation.
Not always. If you are adding central air, an EV charger, a heat pump or a large addition, a 200-amp upgrade is common. We run a load review first so you only upgrade if you need to.
Yes. We install dedicated circuits, disconnects and GFCI protection for hot tubs, outdoor kitchens and patio equipment.
Basements finished years ago were often tied into existing upstairs circuits. Adding dedicated circuits, or a subpanel, gives the space its own capacity.
It depends on the type of service and our schedule that day. Book online or call, and our team will give you the next available appointment. Same-day service is often available.
Our office hours are Monday through Friday, 7 AM to 6 PM. If you smell burning or see sparks, turn off the main breaker if it is safe to do so, and call PECO for outages, downed lines or meter problems. Then contact us so a licensed electrician can find and repair the cause.
