How many detectors do you need?

Smoke Detectors

The National Fire Protection Association recommends smoke alarms in every bedroom, outside each sleeping area, and on every level of your home, including the basement. Smoke alarms should also be replaced every 10 years. Not sure you have enough? We can evaluate your home’s coverage.

Carbon Monoxide Detectors

Experts recommend at least one CO detector on every level of your home and one in each bedroom. If you suspect carbon monoxide exposure, get fresh air immediately and seek medical attention if symptoms persist or worsen.

We Help Keep Your Home Protected

Smoke can spread quickly through a home, while carbon monoxide is an odorless, toxic gas that can be difficult to detect without an alarm. Properly placed, working detectors give you an important warning when you need it most.

JDV Electric can assess your home’s current detector coverage, recommend the right options, and install or replace detectors as needed.

A properly installed carbon monoxide detector can provide an important warning when you need it most. If you’re unsure about your home’s risk or detector needs, JDV Electric can help evaluate your options.

When Should You Replace Your Co Detectors?

Carbon monoxide detectors don’t last forever. Most have a lifespan of 5–7 years, so check the expiration date on the back of your detector.
